Overdrive & Libby

Libby is a free app where you can borrow eBooks, audiobooks, and eMagazines from your public library. You can stream with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or download for offline use and read anytime, anywhere. All you need to get started is your library card.

On your mobile device or desktop:
– Download the Libby app or visit the website
– Find your library (Township of Russell Public Library / Ontario Library Service Consortium)
– Login with your library card number.
– Borrow free eBooks, audiobooks and eMagazines.


From your Windows 10 or earlier computer or to add to an eReader:
– Visit the Download Center Website
– To login, choose Russell Township Public Library and enter the 6 digits of your library card.
– Borrow free eBooks, audiobooks and eMagazines.

April  2021– Any magazines that your library offered through RB Digital have been transferred to Libby. Your library now has access to more than 3200 eMagazines through Libby.

Cantook Station (French eBooks)

A collection of French language books with a bilingual interface.

TumbleBooks Library

TumbleBook Library is an online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. TumbleBooks are created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.

The TumbleBook Library Collection is accessed on-line from every computer in our library, or from home through our website (click on the image above).

Ancestry Library Edition

Provides unprecedented access to family history via documents that record the lineage of over 5 billion individuals. This database is a genealogy research tool with data from census, military records, court, land, probate, vital and church records, passenger lists, etc. It covers Canada, the US, UK, and some European countries. English and French content.

Good news! Temporary Remote Access to the Ancestry Library from Home will be extended until December 31, 2021. A library card is required to access this service.
