Homeschool Hangout: Connect, Create & Have Fun at the Library

watercolours, crayons and pencils

Looking for a fun way to connect with other homeschooling families? Join us at the Russell Branch for our monthly Homeschool Hangout!

Held on the second Tuesday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m., these casual gatherings are a chance for homeschoolers of all ages to meet, learn, create, and have fun together. Each month brings a new activity, from crafts and STEM experiments to games and collaborative projects.

Our September meetup, Connect, Create & Get to Know Each Other!, will focus on building friendships and social skills. Kids ages 7 and up can take part in fun icebreakers, including Dicebreaker, Icebreaker Bingo, and other activities designed to encourage communication, confidence, and teamwork. We’ll also work together to create a collaborative piece of artwork!

While the instructor-led activities are best suited to children 7 and older, families with children of all ages are welcome. Younger children and parents can enjoy a dedicated space with colouring pages, simple crafts, LEGO, and more.

Come meet other homeschooling families, make new friends, and discover something new at the library!
