Do you have an exciting program or event idea? We would love to hear from you!

The Township of Russell Public Library welcomes ideas from community members, organizations, and professionals who are interested in offering programs or events at the library.

Program Planning

Library programs take place during regular library hours. Program proposals are accepted year-round; however, programs are typically planned at least 3 months in advance to allow time for scheduling, promotion, and registration.

All program ideas are reviewed by library staff to ensure they align with the Library’s Strategic Plan, programming policy, available staff, and community interests. While we value and carefully consider every submission, not all proposals will be selected.

The Library does not allow programs that promote or directly advertise commercial products or services. Professionals delivering informational sessions may share business cards or contact information only if requested by participants and they will not receive an honorarium.

Registration and Administration

The Library manages all program registration, including the collection of any applicable fees. Library staff will work with program facilitators to determine appropriate enrollment levels, timelines, and logistical needs. Programs that do not meet minimum registration requirements may be cancelled.

Program Fees and Facilitator Payment

The Library strives to offer high-quality programs that remain accessible and affordable for the community. When applicable, program fees are determined by the Library and are based on factors such as facilitator or instructor fees and promotional and administrative costs.

If payment to a facilitator is applicable, it is typically issued after the successful completion of the program. Facilitators are not compensated for programs that are cancelled due to low registration.

Accessibility

The library is committed to meeting the needs of patrons with disabilities and will arrange for, upon request, modification to programs, in compliance with the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, Ontario Regulation 191/11 and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
