Kids Activities at the Russell Branch – AUGUST 2024

All activities are bilingual and free. Some activities require help from an adult.
Activities will last approximately 15-30 minutes.
Library staff cannot assume responsibility for children left unattended within our public facility.


Storytime (bilingual)

Every Wednesday from July 3 to August 21 at 10:30 AM – Families are invited to enjoy this drop-in story time all summer long.  Storytime will be held outside (indoors in case of rain or extreme heat) at the Russell Branch (1053 Concession Street). Registration not required.

July 2 to August 20 (No activity on July 9 and 16)

9AM-10AM: Join Mélissa on a fun morning hike down the conservation area across the street from the library. Meeting place: library parking lot.
10AM-11AM: It’s story time! With each book, a new adventure begins. Have fun participating in a book-themed activity. In partnership with Early On Child and Family Centre. For children 0-6 years old.

Make and Play Wooden Spoons

Learn to play musical spoons with l’habitant Voyageur Louis Mercier. He is an ambassador of traditional French-Canadian music. In this fun, interactive workshop, participants will sand and finish a set of their own wooden spoons, then learn to play a few simple rhythms with their instrument.

At 7 PM: Stay with us after the workshop for the announcement of the Winners of the Summer Reading Challenges
