With the upcoming Municipal elections, the Township of Russell Public Library is looking for community members who may be interested in joining its Board of Trustees. The Library Board plays an important role in helping guide the future of the library and ensuring it continues to meet the needs of our growing community.
Curious about what it means to be a Library Board member? Come meet some of our current trustees! We’ll be hosting three informal recruitment sessions at our Embrun and Russell branches. Drop in to ask questions, meet current Board members, and learn more about the role and how you can contribute to the future of your local library.

Thursday, October 1 | 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 8 | 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 10 | 1:00–3:00 p.m.
If you’re interested in getting involved in your community and helping shape the future of your library, we’d love to meet you!
Who can become a Library Board member? Candidates must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be a resident of the Township of Russell
- Be comfortable in a bilingual environment
- Not be employed by the Library Board or the Township of Russell
- Participate as an individual, rather than representing an organization or special interest group
- Be available to attend Board meetings and other Board activities
