Choose one of our Summer Reading Challenges
A no pressure kind of summer, we want to celebrate the fun of reading!
This year, there’s no big challenge to complete and no reading goal you have to reach. Our Summer Reading Club is all about enjoying stories, discovering new books, and reading as much as you can throughout the summer. We let you set your reading goal!
Every day or minute of reading counts. Of course, the more you read the more chances you’ll have to win —so whether you read a little or a lot, you can celebrate your progress along the way. Plus, every day and hour you read brings you closer to unlock the hidden treasures in the pirate’s treasure chest! Details in the challenges below.

- We challenge Pre-Readers (0 to 5 years old) to read as many days as they can (being read to counts as well) between June 30th and August 18th.
- The more days you read, the more chances you’ll get to unlock the pirate’s treasure chest and discover the hidden treasures inside! You’ll earn badges for every day you read. Some badges will unlock special passes— these passes allow you to move your name to the next milestone on the treasure map located in the children’s section of the Library.
- 4 winners will be chosen.
- Final prize: a TD Summer Reading Club t-shirt and a $20 gift card to Ahoy Adventures.

- We challenge School-Age Readers (6 to 12 years old) to read as many hours as they can between June 30th and August 18th.
- 4 winners will be chosen (School Age and Teen categories).
- Final prize: Your choice of FOUR prizes! See prizes further down the page.

- We challenge Teen readers (13-17 years old) to read as many hours as they can between June 30th and August 18th.
- To make things even more fun, you can pick up awesome pixel art colouring pages at the library. For every hour you read, you unlock one new colour to add to your design. Keep reading, keep colouring, and watch your artwork come to life one pixel at a time!
- Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, bring it back to the library and we’ll proudly display it on our windows all summer long. How many hours — and how many colours — can you unlock?
- 4 winners will be chosen (School Age and Teen categories).
- Final prize: Your choice of FOUR prizes! See prizes further down the page.

- Adult challenge (18 years and up)
- Take on our Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026 by exploring 25 fun reading categories inspired by sunshine, beaches, road trips, adventure, and all the best parts of summer. How many categories can you complete?
- 2 winners will be chosen.

Accessibility Considerations
The TD Summer Reading Club is for all kids—including those with disabilities. To support children who cannot use standard print due to visual, learning, or physical disabilities, we offer accessible format notebooks in audio, braille, large print, and Open Dyslexic font. Audiobooks also count toward all our reading challenges for those who prefer or need to participate that way.
We’re here to support families who need accessible formats to ensure every child can join in the fun. Do not hesitate to contact library staff with your needs and questions.
HAPPY READING!
