Pick-me-up!

Pick-me-up!

The “Pick-me-up! / Emporte-moi! ” program is designed to promote reading in the community and to encourage readers to discover Ontario authors. The initiative, based on the world-wide ‘bookcrossing’ phenomenon, was officially launched in 2008 in partnership with the Friends of the Library.

Pick Up a Book!

Over 150 books have been distributed and deposited in various businesses, venues and other locations in Russell and Embrun including coffee shops, medical offices, beauty salons, etc. Selected titles include works in English and in French published by Ontario authors or publishers; they include books for adults, young adults, teenagers and children. Each book is identified with the Library’s logo and instructions invite readers to read the book on site or take it home and return it at any “Pick-me-up!” location.
