Celebrating Black History Month at the Library

February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the contributions, history, and culture of Black communities past and present. This year, the Township of Russell Public Library is proud to offer themed activities for children and families, along with curated book displays for all ages, to encourage learning, reflection, and meaningful conversations.

Celebrate Black History Month with a special storytime and craft at the library! Berylla, a Russell resident, will read engaging stories that highlight Black history and culture, followed by a hands-on craft inspired by the theme. The storytime is open to all ages. Please note that registration is required for the craft portion for children ages 5 to 9.

📖 Themed Book Displays for All Ages

Throughout February, visitors to both library branches can explore Black History Month book displays featuring carefully selected titles for adults, teens, and children. These collections highlight Black voices, stories, and experiences and offer something for readers of every age and interest.
